Excited to be in ²ÝÁñÉçÇø!

four Women smilingEagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD welcomed around 200 new employees to the district on Tuesday, July 30.

All new employees were greeted at Chisholm Trail High School by cheerleaders from all four ²ÝÁñÉçÇø high schools, including Eagle Mountain High School, set to open on August 12, along with the Chisholm Trail High School drumline.

Shantelle Minor is one of those new employees. She is a teacher at Highland Middle School.

"I'm so excited to be at Eagle Mountain because this is where my child has gone to school for a few years, and he has loved it, and I'm ready to dive in and work with those kids just like him," she said.

At the welcome, the group heard from Deputy Superintendent Dr. Dana Barnes, followed by Superintendent Dr. Jim F. Chadwell.A woman and a man smiling

Chadwell, who announced his retirement last week after 14 years leading ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, encouraged the new employees to remain inspired about serving children, referring to education as a lifelong calling.

"I'm excited to be in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD because I see how this district fosters relationships and cares about its students," said Angelina Rodriguez, a new teacher at Marine Creek Middle School.

The welcome also included inspirational speeches from 2023-2024 ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Elementary Teacher of the Year, Tracy Warrick, from Elkins Elementary School, and 2022-2023 ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Secondary Teacher of the Year, Jodi Brownlee, from Creekview Middle School.

Joining the event for the first time were new employees from Eagle Mountain High School.

Some of the new employees are new to the area. For others, they will now be teaching where they live.

"I'm excited to be in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw because I've lived here for about fifteen years now and finally get to teach in my hometown," said Kelly Cotton, who will be teaching at Marine Creek Middle School.

Now, these new employees will work to get settled into their new classrooms. They're excited about meeting their students, and they're excited to be in ²ÝÁñÉçÇø.cheerleaders
